Setting up an electric outboard ?

Im putting together a 12 cell electric outboard using a Fuller's carbon fiber lower unit and i machined a mounting plate to adapt a 700 motor +Astro 25 and brushless for direct drive application .What i need to know when installing the drive coupler that is squared at the one end when putting the coupler over the squared end of the flex shaft how far down over the squared end of flex shaft does the coupler have to sit ? Eg 1/8'' or futher down . Regards Andris Golts.

I would try and get more than 1/8" of flex in the coupler, i try and get around 5-6mm (1/4")
