I purchased a used Picco.45,silver head. The backplate is mounted with carb in 12 oclock position. Looking at it while rotating, it sure doesnt look like the port is opening and closing when it should. I rotated it 90 degrees and it just does'nt seem right either. I have a k&b inboard, looked at it and seems totally different. I run outboards and race 1/8 scale buggys, all front rotor,so I'm darn confused. Any help would be appreciated. Rick

Rick if you rotate the engine in the proper direction the rotor should open as the piston starts up and close about 50-60 degrees after the piston passes top dead center.

Thanks Mark. I don't know what caused the brain fart. The downstroke forces the fresh charge into the cylinder, right? I've been breathin too much exhaust racin cars indoors all winter. At least thats my exuse. Thanks again Rick
