District 4 Racers!

Rick Alexander called to give me the news. I was floored when he told me this. The 2004 Todd Tribbett Memorial Nitro Shoot Out will be held at CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY!!! This will be a first class race site for you guys. No more fighting the weeds! Watch the web site at http://illini.impba4.com for details. What do you think Grim?

Later!

Thats good news for all the boaters in Dist 4,, closest race to me too. Also not on the Evansville race weekend, i can do both this year. PHIL

This is the June race if I'm right. Is it easy to find? That's one reason why I liked the Joliet pond, it was right off the Highway and easy to get to if you were coming North but a pain otherwise for us out-of-towners.

The date of the race is June 27. This is the NASCAR track in Joliet, not the one that went out of business in Cicero. Its not hard to find. You take Interstate 55 past the old race site to Interstate 80. Then go East on 80 to Illinois 53. Go South on 53 for 3 miles, it will be on the left. Anyone local should take a ride past and check it out. The pond the ILLINI will be using is by the ticket office on Schweitzer Road and 53.

i'm trying to understand the race tracks involvement with this? Will they be providing any services?

Or you could run 80 across to joliet from 80/94.

And its not that hard to find, If you get the right room at harrahs, You can see the track, So i have been told. :p

Phil!

The ILLINI race is double points. Bring that lobster boat and tear em up like you did at Mendota! Your boat was impressive that day.

Tom!

Getting a pond 30 feet deep is good enough. I don't know about "services". ;) There will be no free tickets to a NASCAR race, thats for sure. Details wil follow as we get closer to race day.

Hello Guys,

They have a nice sized lake there but every time I've been there (many times) the water was REALLY choppy. Where not talking hurricane winds either, just breezy.

Paul.

Phil!

If you like gambling Harrahs is in downtown Joliet, and Empress is on rt 6. Either are not far from Chicagoland Speedway.

Mike!

Isn't there a race no matter what the water conditions are?
