Header question

How far can the header go in the tune pipe before it effects the performance of the pipe. Any help would be great.

It shouldn't go into the tuned pipe at all. Find a way to make a smooth transtition from one to the other.

Not past the point where the first cone begins to open up. In other words if the pipe has a 1.5" straight header section before the first cone, then 1.5" inside is your limit.
