Playing around with the idea of cutting out the rear portion on the turbine tube where the steering linkage comes out. Will the boat take on more water this way? Is removing it advisable for improved airflow?

Absolutly yes to cutting it out!! I did mine after i saw several other people cut thiers out....it does help, not to mention every little bit of weight you can take off of the boat helps a little.
