Thanks for letting us know about Charlie.
I remember plenty of conversations on the
phone with Charlie when he was starting to
make the first few Zoom carbs. He reached
out to me, Jim Wilson, Jack and Steve O’Donnell,
Mark Grim, and a few others to test these nice
carbs. I was one of the lucky ones to call Charlie
my friend. Most do not even know all of the early
contributions that he developed for us model boaters.
He was really big in go carts earlier in his racing career.
He designed some of best boat parts like turnfins, fuel
metering controls, carbs, and plenty of others. He was
a great mechanic and he always was an innovative guy.
He Loved his dogs just like most of us that have them.
Charlie was also Really Big into BBQ competitions he
was always tweaking a recipe or another cooking
technique. He was just a great guy.

I met Charles one of the first times I went to Huntsville for a record trial. He treated me like I was somebody and you could tell he was experienced and an open book. I remember thinking I hope I get to see him again. Very sad news. Rest easy Mr. Perdue.
