My buddy gave me a blackjack 26. Ive been trying and trying to get this thing running. Ive tried new plugs, and all different needle setting including what the manual says. One time i poured fuel in the carb and it ran for about 3 seconds. tried again and nothing. Any ideas? I just want to get the engine running so I can out it in a decent hull.

Assuming the motor is proper.
Pull the plug,turn over the motor and hold your finger over the glow plug hole and the carb,fuel should blow out.
If this doesn't happen either a line/carb is crimped, clogged, fuel lines set up improperly.
With the carb in partially/full open position blow through the inlet fuel fitting and see if its restricted. If it is, its the carb adjustment or clogged.
