At the Atlanta race this last weekend I seen a 34 inch Villain prototype built by Gary Loy. I hope that this boat will be offered in a kit someday because this is a very impressive 21 boat. Gary let me call for him during one heat and the boat handled so well and had very good speed for a new boat. If you get to race against Gary this year you will probably get a good view of the back of his Villain.

Chris

Hum....gary and me....na

OK OK you got us..

Thats right im proud to say that driven by Gary Loy this last weekend he placed 2nd in 3.5cc tunnel running a new prototype mod Villain.

This was the first race for the boat. This after 2 weeks of testing..Not to bad.. ;)

I can not take full credit for this boat however as it would not be if not for Gary. He fueled the fire. Gary and I worked over some wood to make what we hope will become the boat to beat this summer.

Congrats to Power Surge Racing Products Team Member Gary Loy and his new Prototype Villain 34.

Welcome aboard Gary.

Hi Grim,

Would that be a Nova Rossi on a Lawless lower (wide cavitation plate) with a K&B Gold Carb and Irwin muffled pipe? Interesting combination would he be willing to share more info with us?

Motor and Boat combo look just about perfectly sized for each other.

OK Mike,

Now that someone let the cat outta the bag - what are the differences other than the length?

Tim.

Hey Mike that looks SWEET,

Hey Gene, you know what you get when you mix Viagra an Roegain...................................DON KING !!!HAHAHAHAHAH

Tim ;D

I too called for Gary this weekend, (when I wasnt in the same heat gettin' my butt waxed by him) and this boat looks awsome. It seemed to handle very well and handled the extra power like it should when leaned on. I think we have a winner. Unfortunately Gary has a little repair work to do as the skeg of his teamates boat went across the right sponson and cowl. I believe the only difference of this boat (that he told me anyway) was the sponson depth. Sure looked good Gary and Mike, congrats.

P.S. Grim, Got lots of comments on the T-Shirt! Of course Gary had one on also. ;D.....

Power Surge ROCKS!

Yep! the cats out of the bag now!!!

Thanks guys for your help at atlanta. what a great race 18- 21 tunnels thats awsome!!!

A huge thanks has to go to Mike, he has put up with many hours of my yapping at him over the phone.

but as it turns out it was time well spent.

I'll try my best to keep the villian name on the podium.

Now for some dirt.

34'' long

7 1/4'' wide tunnel

23'' center sec.

started at 4 3/4 lbs.

best run to date has been 51 mph.

corners as if on rails!

this past weekend was the first time in traffic, I had no idea what was going to happen.

yes it has NR power, lawless drive.

fell free to ask ? I will do my best to to get you all the dirt you can handle.

thanks, See you at the pond!!!

Gary

p.s. Cant wait to race Mike.

Hey Gary,

Congrats on the 2nd place in Atlanta.

One quick question -had you run that motor on other hulls and did you have a speed for it? I guess what I'm really asking is did you loose any speed by going to such a long hull?

Thanks,

tim.

TimD,

the nova rossi is new this year.

for the last 2 years i have been running a 33'' bandit killer with very good results. both of these boats are longer and wider than most 21's but we have very powerful mtrs.today, my bandit boat would run 53mph. with a cmb 21. im sure this boat will do more in the future just a little tweeking here and there.

so to answer your ?

no im not losing any speed compared to what others are running, 45-50 in heat race trim will win anywhere! but i can run those speeds in less than perfect water. that is what makes a big difference at most races.

Gary

Guess my question would be what prompted you to go clear out to 34" ? Man thats 6" over the stock design,

I do understand the need for some extra length cause of the NR mod engine, like out to 30" or so.

Gene ;D

Thats the secret everyone wants to know. This boat is good with a Nova Rossi I can't wait to see it with a pirahna on the back or even that special motor that will appear at the internats. Go gary just remember like you taught me don't tell everything.

Gene,

i went with 34 for ease of mesurement but like i said before i had been running 33'' for two years.

30'' is fine! htb290 runs good at 29 i dont see to many problems with any hull in that size range.

but, i have the same speed in a boat that will handle rough water/crossing wakes ect. much better than the shorter boats. so if the speed is there why not take advantage of the extra size to keep you going in all conditions.

as light as the stock villian builds 2'' would not make a big difference. you need to ask J. dunlap i believe he built one out to 30''

Hey,

You know what Viagra is made out of, don't you?......................... [glow=green,2,300]Miricale Grow and Fix-a-flat[/glow]

Josh

Ha,Ha, :D Josh you and yer dad are a hoot!!!!!

Hmmmmm...... might have those out in the garage

Gary,

Jerry D. tried to get me to make my last hull longer, I have discussed design with him a few times. His WOF 28/30 is a excellent hull, as is the ever evolving Villain series.

Sheeeesh, any other suprizes Grim?

Gene ;D
