The stock crank pin bearing in any of these engines which rpms are sustained at 18k+-19k+ rpms even with a slotted rod is surviving on the outer limits of reality and borrowed time. Increasing the oil to 16 ozs per US gallon will help the longevity and of course pitted bearing races from water...
