    Carb rotor hardness?

Thanks, Terry Actually, I have a small Dotco 100,000 RPM air powered die grinder that I mounted on the compound. A 1/8" diamond burr did the cutting. Kind of a jury-rigged set up but it got the job done. Now that I have the method down, it should be easy to do again.

    Carb rotor hardness?

Well, that went quite well. A carbide boring bar probably would have been easier but the grinding apparatus was at hand and was very easily controlled. The throat was enlarged from .217" to .261". Thanks for the help!

    Carb rotor hardness?

First, thanks for the input, guys. This is just what I needed. My mill is a horizontal so it's not much help. I have the rotor set up in the lathe and indicated in and was going to try to grind it with a grinder set up on the cross feed. Does anyone make a boring bar that will go into a...

    Carb rotor hardness?

Thanks, Phil. Yeah, a file will barely touch it. I guess I'll try the annealing route. Ken

    Carb rotor hardness?

I'd like to open up the bore on an O.S. rotary carb a little. I have various reamers but I was wondering how hard these things usually are? Do they need to be annealed before reaming and then re-hardened? Thanks, Ken

    jae 12 flywheel

Another possibility is to get an SG-style crank for the Picco which will accept the Zippkits flywheel. I'm not a car/truck/buggy guy but I believe they made a version of this motor with that style crank.

    OS #10M Carburetor Rotary

I put in a WTB for a 10-series rotary carb in early March and got no responses. I did a workaround so I don't really need one now but I will offer $18.00 shipped. Do you take PayPal? Thanks, Ken

    NAMBA Disrict 8 Class champion

Congratulations, Jim. You deserved it. That's a cool boat and a cool trophy, too. You're the first one I've seen to run the turn fin that far forward. Edit: That should go on the Zipp website!

where to get carbon graphite rod in 1" dia. at a decent price?

Carbon graphite rods of all shapes and sizes are used as the electrodes in EDM (electrostatic discharge machining). It's a consumable but I don't know the cost. You might try looking in that direction.

    Propeller Indexing

Here's a quote from Charles Perdue on the subject of drive line friction but couldn't the same method be used to measure drive line wind up for the purpose of indexing the prop to the piston stroke at maximum horsepower? Thanks, Ken [Enjoying the heck out of this discussion]

    WTB OS 10E-R Carburetor

This is a rotary carb and fits the .12CV-R and the .15CV-R and maybe some others. Actually I'm looking for any rotary carb with a neck that will fit in these engines (.393" / 10mm or thereabouts). I could do some modification, but there's not a lot of room to play with. Thanks, Ken
