New Zipp Kit JAE 21 GT

Hi, can someone tell me the tub dimensions (height and width)? Thanks, Scott

    Fiberglass 1/8 scale hulls

Wayne, I was part of the AMPBA Electric Committee that revised the rules a few years ago. You don't have to have a single battery pack. You can stuff cells anywhere in the boat you like, so long as the number of cells and weight limit for each class is not exceeded. I've seen the guys in NZ put...

Servos,.. so many available now.. lower cost but

I've been using Hobbyking servos in mny electric race boat for years, never had a single issue. The Power HD ones seem really good. Only problem is I can never remember which one I bought the previous time, too many to choose from!

36" whip motor choice, 1520 Castle vs 1717??

I should have mentioned mine is the 1500kV Air version, which has holes front end rear. Very nice motor.

36" whip motor choice, 1520 Castle vs 1717??

Two very quick 36" Whiplashes in our club run 1527/1.5Ds on 6S. They are actually pretty good on the batteries because the boats run quite light (both 1P setups, but our races are slightly shorter than yours). As a comparison, I have run both a 1717 and a 1527/1.5D in my 37" DF 21 MkII mono...

So I take it this topic is closed? ;)

    Full-p JAE

Without derailing this thread too far, I have run both motors in my DF33 mono. Put simply, the 1518 will swing a bigger prop than the 1515, at higher rpm (and draw more current accordingly). The 1518 is getting beyond the limits of my DF33 (or maybe my setup ability). And it does all this while...

    Full-p JAE

I ran a 1515/1Y in my JAE and it went well, particularly with an ABC H7. I would have liked to have tried a 1515/1.5D (2700 kV) on a slightly smaller prop, but sold the boat before I had the chance. I just felt it needed more RPM than the 1Y provided. Not sure the 3674 Leo would pull a big...

Anyone have real motor specs for 1717 castle/nue

Hugh, I'm running 1P because that's all our racing rules allow. But mine are 65C packs. 6S2P would be best if you have 25C. So you got a 1717 and ran it with a 645? Happy?

Anyone have real motor specs for 1717 castle/nue

Hugh, I'm running the aero version of the 1717 (1,500 kv) in a 37" Delta Force mono. Running 6S1P (5,000 mAh) it spins a 447/3 nicely. Sorry, I haven't logged any data though. If you're running 6S2P, and probably the buggy version (1,580 kv), then the 447/3 or a 450/2 would be a good starting...

    Sport 20 Turn Fins

Hey Kris, I'm running a Mike Hughes fin on mine - love it! Been running it for a couple of years now. Got one for my Whip 40 as well. Cheers, Scott

    Small Extended Strut

The Speedmaster Sp20 extended struts I have seen are definitely smaller than the 45 sized stuff. Such as this one - http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/proddetail.php?prod=ros-Sport-20-strut Exactly the same blade and brackets as the small Speedmaster stuff (such as that mounted on my Whiplash...

Video of New Deltaforce 21 MKII with Novarossi Engine Gear Drive

I received one of these today, to be electric powered (6S1P). Finish is excellent and the shape is really nice. Was ordered as an electric hull, so has no holes in the hatch, but still has the nice timber rails. Based on first impressions - highly recommended!

YouTube Video of GP Hydroplane running with F1 and F2s

Great video, thanks for posting! It reminds me of a race they hold here in Australia each year called King of the River. I think the winners of each major class all race together at the end of the weekend to determine the King. Video of it here - Unfortunately neither of the two guys battling...
