LOL. Everything us D4 guys argued about with both NAMBA and IMPBA concerning P-Limited the last few years is now coming true.

Tried hard to keep FE going in D4 with effort and hard cash. Its dead and done forever. Check around - most top racers and smart racers moved on to other things.

My advice - run in another direction. Other than that no further comment from D4.

Mike, Chilli, Doug, and Lohring...thank you for your posts. This is very helpful information. You would think simply copying what is working for NAMBA and proposing to the IMPBA would be the best solution. Then a person could run in both organizations.

What is working for NAMBA Ron? These classes are still evolving, discussions have been going on since their conception. (below is just a sample)Both organizations can race with each other now. The only reason we would need a Nat. rule set on these classes is for records. Don't see that happening.

But having said that, give the IMPBA FE Director Chris Harris a call and put a proposal together once you get it all figured out.

Good luck,

D.

I know this is gonna ruffle feathers but I'm with Doug and for the remainder of my time as DD (I am not running for position at term end) I will oppose any P-limited national rules for IMPBA, just not worth the aggravation.

I see Doug. I had no idea all of this has been going on pertaining to this class. We will definitely need to think it through for further discussions. Thanks for the feedback.

I understand Don. I had no idea this conversation has been this controversial in the past. I will keep talking to those Districts and others that are running the class successfully, to gather more information. SAW is one thought but a national classification will make it officially available at the FE Nats as well. More thinking. Thanks.

That's why I gave you a hand while there was still hope of getting you out.

Thanks Doug for the lifeline!!!! Just in the nick of time LOL. I will approach this differently by talking to several people and trying to have a plan of attack.

Risk and reward. If some has taken the "never" view a number of years ago we would not have the existing B Sport class. Still one of the largest nationally.I am not a big supporter of the present spec motors available but if FE is going to take root it needs a starter class. Making national rules will grow the class. Leaving it local will just enable the controversy to live on. Had the powers to be adopted the NAMBA structure 5 years ago we would have little controversy. We argued the ESC rule more than the motor spec and now it's no longer an issue. Give it a probationary status and not qualified for records. See what happens.

Once again I would like to point out that our club has been running the P limited classes for years. No tech problems, no fighting, just a lot of fun, especially for new boaters.

Ron, if you are wondering what setup to use in P-lim. that should satisfy IMPBA or NAMBA and any dist. that runs P-Lim stuff, just go with the UL-1 motor and ESC...Done! There you go, there you have it, there you are!! ; )

Spot on the point....this is what we tell the guys who want to run 4S tunnel (inboard or Outboard)...just get a motor like the ul1 motor and lets race, but no worries if you want to run something else and smack us all...then it isn't as fun for them

I have seen some of the Florida guys running this setup and it is VERY reliable and competitive!
