    First Gas Boat Question

Tom, The key when starting cold is to pull the starter slowly while choking. After each pull, check to see if your finger is wet. If so, just do a few short, fast pulls and it should light. It is very easy to over prime and flood the motors. Not to mention what it is doing to your shoulder...

    Carbon fiber Couls

I spoke to Donna about a week ago. They are no longer doing ABS cowls. They are making glass and carbon over glass types but they are not vacuum formed. Donna indicated they will be using the vacuum process soon which will make them turn out great. The nicest carbon cowls I have seen were...

    WTB CMDi 90 Rudder Assembly

I know this is a long shot looking for this. I need the SGX 90 size rudder assembly to complete my gas rigger build. I drilled and sealed the transom for the CMDi rudder so I cannot use an AccuTech or Speedmaster version. My only alternative may be to replace the transom. Thanks much, Bill

    Heat Treat Ovens for Props

The digital controls on a pottery kiln allow ramping control (up and down) as well as soak points. I have a large kiln with these controls and it is very accurate. Bill

    CMDi

Last email from CMDi was late February saying sorry for the long delay and it will be ready shortly. Many follow up emails sent. Mark Sholund had some B&B stock left but no rudders. Also sent B&B (Bengt) an inquiry on 90 size rudder assembly and have not heard back.

I dropped Igal a note a few days ago and have not heard anything. In the past he has made me C/F cowls at good prices. Hope is still around.

    Help with CMDI

The only reason I posted was to see if I could use a temporary rudder system for mock up. Kind of had the feeling the bug bit one or more folks. Andy and Donna are a pleasure to deal with and I love their products. Bill

    Help with CMDI

Last time I heard from them was early January. Still waiting on a cowl and rudder assembly for my gas SGX. Question: are any other rudder assemblies suitable replacement? I realize some cutting may be involved but I am concerned about the width and base bolt pattern. I am stuck until I get...

    JAE gas rigger (new build)

I run 8oz of oil per gallon. Have you checked the carb diaphragm for imperfections (wrinkles...caused by ethanol). This will cause the symptoms you are having.

    NHRA opening season

Bill, Personally I don't think Ashley will return as she likes being a Mom. That was pretty clear in interviews last year. She was at the race to support her sister.

pic requirement should we do it?

I think that pictures actually help make the sale. It helps both the buyer and seller meaning 'what you see is what you get'. Naturally, accurate pictures should be used. Bill

    Fair heat mixing

We use a pretty simple method that most folks like. We use ping pong balls with heat designations (A, B, C, etc.) printed on a ball. You use as many balls as you have boats to divide. If you need two heats, you mix A and B balls equally for the boat total. Then have someone draw balls from a...
