I was wondering what steering servo you guys are using? Mainly how much torque. I am running a visioncraft with a os. I am using the Futaba S-3305 124oz torque and it has been working for me but I was wondering if most people are using a servo with more torque than that.

I'm using a Hobbico CS-170 Std Digital Ultra Torue 2BB TG servo in a PS295 FE tunnel.

Here are the specs. Bought it for $89 at my LHS.

SPECS: Speed: at 4.8V = .19 sec @ 6V = .15 sec Torque: 4.8V = 250 oz-in (18 kg/cm) 6V = 333 oz-in (23.97 kg-cm) Length: 1.59 (40.6mm) Width: .79 (20.3mm) Height: 1.5 (38.1mm) Weight: 2.18oz (61.8g) Lead Length: 10 (254mm)

I've been running the s3305 in my OS powered sport tunnel for 2 years now - no issues. Great servo for the application and more than enough torque on 6V.

Hi Jack

I use the Futaba S3050 Digital. In my 21 tunnel boats.. (sport 40 and scale too)

It does not have as much power as the 3305 but its holding power is fantastic. Also. the price is very nice.

Does a very nice job for me..

Also.. just so you know.. At the race last time I ran 20 runs (test and race) and only used 350mah of my 1100mah LiFe pack.

Thanks guys, I think I will stick with what I am using now then. Just wanted to make sure it wasnt underpowered. It has worked fine and has been durable. Glad to see some other choices if I decide to change later.
