I can't believe how this thread has joged my memory, the Fillmore East used to have three act shows. 40 years ago I saw the Chambers Bros. (top billing) Blood, Sweat and Tears with Al Cooper and an unknown band called the Amboy Dukes. There lead guitarist wore a full dress eagles head on stage. Today he's known as Ted Nugent. J Geils was dating Faye Dunaway and he lived in the building that I worked the graveyard shift with maintainance. Changed many a light bulb in his crib at 3 in the morning, we needed them to see through the smoke. :D :D :D

Brad:

This is where i liked to go as a youngster http://www.thegrandeballroom.com , check the next link to see the phenomenal bands that played there in 1968 http://www.thegrandeballroom.com/files/68dates.html you can also poke around the website and see the live recordings and all the different gigs by year. My first concert there was John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers and Savoy Brown with Kim Simmonds and Chris Youlden. What a venue !!

Don't forget that the Fillmore East had early and late shows too. :)
