I would like to say a heartfelt "Thank You!" to anyone who donated to the collection in memory of Rod Geraghty to be sent to the Viet Nam Veterans of America in his honor. Over $150 was donated, either directly, or through the purchase of a Rod Geraghty designed "Outlaw" car motor adapter. I would also like to mention that a matching donation of up to $200 was promised by a member, so there is still some room for the collection to grow. If there is anyone who would like to make a last-minute donation to help fulfill the matching promise, please, do so in the next couple days so the money can go to the VVOA later this week. Your small donation in rememberance of a genuine OG of r/c boating will go to the cause of helping Viet Nam veterans who were on the front lines in that terrible conflict. Many of them, Rod included, suffered the devastating effects, both mental and physical, from having been there. No matter how you felt about that war, remember the thousands of soldiers who were there. Many men and women never returned, and those who did came home with deep scars, seen and unseen. Please, make a donation in his honor and help those who remain. You can donate by sending any amount to [email protected] through Paypal. Unlike so many so-called fund raising activities, no part of the donations will be held back for "administrative costs".
A final report will be made by Friday as to the amount being donated. Thank you again.
