Home Depot carries the Bernsomatic brand silver solder..i dont think its quite as strong as Sta-brite (lower melting point) but might be usable for what you want to do....

hey john, any hardware store or lowes. i have used 50/50 and 95/5 from plumbing supply or home depot for clevis for ever and it is plenty strong,mike.

The strengh is what I am worried about.. I am building a VS1 tunnel hull and it's for my steering.

john, if i have not had one fail in a .90 rigger,17# cat or an 1/8 scale hydro, i highly dout a little vs1 is going to break it. mike.

most importing thing with that solder joint is take a little ruff sandpaper and scuff the pushrod, gives better bite,and use good flux. mike.
