Weather report doesn't look good for this weekend until Sunday Friday report calls for winds 16mph SW Sat. is even worse, 22mph WNW, Sunday is at least down to single digits 6 mph SSW. I guess we will see how well thye predicted the weather this weekend??

At least we have another Records trial lined up for November 10-12 hopefully better weather then.

Thanks Terry. Well the rain has not started yet that was predicted for last night and this morning.

Here's a good site to check, I find they're "Prog Charts" pretty good:

I understand the Maglinger Boys will be in town to give it a try. Hope the bug bites em and they get more boats........Mike Schindler

Looks like a shitty day for you guys, sorry. :(

They say the wind is supposed to switch to the NW over night (behind you standing on the driver's stand). Late Saturday should see it clearing, Sunday looks better: :)

Everything blew through about 330pm JOhn and I got everything set up and Bob Finn made a few runs and set records in a few gas classes. Actually the sun even came out at the end.

Congrats to Mr Bob Finn boy he sure has some bullets for gassers.....Mikey

He is running for XLS 36 Cat and LS 36 mono and Cat.

Weather was much better today I got my 21 speedmaster to about 54mph but it was too rough to go much faster with that boat. Bob also improved alot on his times from yesterday.

Looks like a nice day:

I really would like to see the IMPBA go to just listing the time, not MPH on the oval records. The MPH listing is completely misleading as it not a true reflection of the boat speeds. Even though "mathematically" it calculates out, it is based on a course line that is physically impossible to drive as it's plotted thru the centerline of the buoys. Just plot a course running lane #1 & see how much farther a total distance you are actually having to drive the boat. When we set the D hydro oval record 2 years ago at a 2 lap time of 17.2 the boat was entering the turns right at 100mph. That's 8.6 seconds a lap folks, done with basically the same boat that went 109.9 two weeks earlier at SAW yet the record lists 69.4mph. And you look at Harry's 2 lap time of 20.5, that's just a tick over 10 seconds a lap, do you really think he did it with a 58.5mph boat? I can't tell you how many times after they read the oval MPH we hear people say things like "I can go that fast with my heat race boat". The "calculated" MPH takes away from the significance of the oval records in my opinion.

And BTW- congrats to all who set a record. B)

Don you are very right as to the MPH makes it look like a slow boat. But it is just a average speed just like any other race course. Look at the speeds for the two lap qualifer in Nascar.
