Paint help/Tape removal ?

Wondering what the general rule of thumb is for removing masking tape between paint layers/colors. Should the paint completely cure before unmasking hard lines or still wet / damp /tacky ???

I pull the tape as soon as I am done spray and while the paint is still soft. The paint line will level out with a clean edge.

I use fineline 1/8" or even 1/16" depending on the radius of a corner and then mask that off with masking tape. Pull it after it tacks up a bit first.

Good advise Rob, And dont buy cheap masking tape go to a paint supply store and buy fresh stuff..
