He wanted this win and needed it tonight. After this race he's still 2nd in the Cup points, 41 down.

A win will put him in the Race For The Chase and an automatic entry into next year's All-Star race.

He said in the post-race interview that gas mileage tracks haven't been good for them but I was getting really excited when he was leading all of those laps.

Next week is Dover, considered his home track and where his first Cup win came at.

He had an awesome car & drove the wheels off it! A little slow on the last pit stop put him in a hole, then Kasey Kahne blocking on the last restart put the screws to his chances for a win. Martin or Furniture Row have nothing to be ashamed of, they've had a helluva season so far. The new chase format sux in the fact that you can have a season like he is having, & potentially NOT make the chase.
