Looking for a supplier of NIMH 4.8v 1200mah battery packs at a reasonable price. Anybody have trusted web sites to go to? Is SANYO still the preferred battery of choice? Thank you ---DAN----

Radical RC in Dayton,Oh has a large supply of battery and a good price. And they can make what ever you need also.

Life is the way to go.

This might not be a "popular" answer but I've been using these for years:

I check them on my old Ace cycler each spring, capacity starts to go around 5 years for me so I replace them.

If it ain't broke...

Nothing trick, just up to date. I like a charger that keeps me informed and tells me the condition of my batteries. What I take out during a weekend and what goes in. I was too paranoid with the plug in the wall and pray chargers. And there's something about life batteries. It seems to me that they're just more efficient. A 1600mAh Life battery would probably last a month of racing every weekend. No need to overdue with these batts. I've got an 1800mAh battery in my transmitter that would probably last the season. I usually charge it a couple times just because.

Happy New Year, Ron

I still run Nimh packs in my boats. I'll eventually make the switch to life's but if you dont want to buy a new charger and you take care of the batteries, they last for years. Im probably pushing it but several of my packs are 8 years old and still hold full capacity.

I bought the majority of them from cheapbatterypacks.com. You pick the cells and they'll make you a custom pack in the shape you want.

I've also had good luck with hobbico packs. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0095p?FVSEARCH=%3Cb%3Enimh%3C%2Fb%3E+4.8v+receivers+batteries

Another good source is www.onlybatterypacks.com . The site has lots to choose from and good prices and tons of battery info based on the application used.

exactly. I've always used 5-cell, 6V NiMh Rx packs, and 8-cell, 9.6V Tx NiMh packs. I use SR Batteries brand mil-spec NiMh custom made packs:
http://www.srbatteries.com/rc.htm

I use my same, reliable, ACE R/C HD DigiPace charger/cycler. Also use other ACE R/C multi-pack chargers. I never worry about batteries.

One day I will make the switch LiFe packs (including chargers/cyclers, etc.,...)
