Oberstar-Feingold Clean Water Restoration Act

Need to read and OPPOSE this through whatever channels possible.

In a nutshell, it would allow federal control of any wetlands, lakes, rivers, ponds even temporary wet areas privately owned or not. Now, couple this gestapo action with those who want all 2 stroke engines banned and you have the recipe to extinguish our hobby.

Our idiot president at his best
I wish our president was an idiot, but he knows exactly what he is doing!

Cap and Trade is being voted in the House on Friday; a tax on businesses, therefore everyone, all in the name of "global warming". Call your representatives...

It is important to notice that one of the main objectives of this act is to remove the word "navigable" from the term "navigable waterway". Most people will not understand exactly what that means.

Navigable means "right to use", such as an inland river that is bordered by privately owned land. This also applies to land locked lakes such as the lakes along the Colorado River and the many chain of lakes found all over Florida.

With the word navigable removed, the "right to use" becomes endangered and government agencies would have a foothold to decide just what activities are allowed or not allowed on any watershed. It is impoetant to also realize that the U.S. Coast Guard, which used to be under the D.O.T. (department of transportation) is now under the department of Homeland Security. Basically, it is no longer the job of the Coast Guard to be a "voice" for the recreational boating public when it comes to navigable waterways. Beginning to see the pieces fall in place here?
