"We have lead the world in FE R & D for several years. We have been and will continue to be a driving force with product development, racing innovation and racing support. The end result of our efforts has been cheaper and better products for the hobby. We have NEVER asked for, or received outside support for the operation of this site, the BIG monthly cost of this forum, our R & D or the HUGE cost of racing."

Don Wollard

Led the world FE for several years?

I guess if he is sick of racing he can allways bow out..

What is his point..have to go check it out.

Grim

What interests me more is all the bk controlers that died! 40 returned unrepaired!!!

Grim the sum of it is that there were rumors of why they stopped selling bk and lehner, and soon he will set the record straight.

Steve ok you don't like Don but come on. He designed and built the first rigger to go over 80 mph and 90 mph. He was the first to import the Lehner motors for boat racing he carries a line of stainless props and is coming out with a new line of hardware. He supports numerous races including the SAW and is in the forefront of FE at least in SAW. Leading the world is probably a strech but the FE world is better off with Don then it was before he got involved.

Where does it say that I don't like Don?

I guess I see others in this equation

Ed Hughey

George Dalecki

Ray Fuller

Chris Fines

Jeff Vasquez.....Aveox factor

Dick Crowe

Larry Larson

Jeff Stevens

Andy Valentine

Jerry Dunlap

Jim Agustine

Dee Hughey

Maus

Ian Williams

Joerge (the fastest man in the world) others from Europe

Tom Balmes

Octura

Michigan

Cleveland

Andy Kunz

Jay Turner

Many Others.........

Many have supported F/E in many ways and without everyone we would have less.

Ray.

I dont know Don from Donie...but he was far from the first dude to "design" a rigger to go over 80 mph...lol

Just sounds like he is getting frustrated and that sucks.. I dont like to see anybody get out of the hobby.. Its just when the time comes, its best for all.

You had better go research that statement again. Your information is incorrect.

If you were meaning 'Electric" rigger, I can only hope that the person who "actually" designed and re-designed the boat to get it up to 80 MPH jumps in here. He probably won’t though because he is pretty humble and not at all a glory hound.

Also the Europeans have been designing boats that go that fast for years. It was only recently that they stared coming to North America to show it all off.

This is the electric forum so yes I meant electric. Dick Crowe was driving the hull built by Don when he went 87 mph the first over 80 in electrics. He was also driving this hull when it went 94 mph the first over 90 then Joerg went 102 mph. If you look at the european records they are not this high and if they are point me to the site. A good part of that may be no lakes to run on. Joerg said the bigest lake in Germany is too small and the fastest he could go was 85 mph and ran into the shore. Steve everybody knows you had a big thing with Don it is not a secret. I agree everybody on your list has been great for FE and there may even be some you have left off.

Key word here is "had."

You know, Steve, when you quote someone, you should use the whole quote so it isn't taken out of context.

From the Rum Runner Racing Forum;

"Its Time To Stop The Gossip And Rumors.

Since summer, several individuals elected to create and spread gossip about why Rum Runner Hobbies dumped the Lehner Motor line and BK Electronics.

We will very shortly publish a statement on this forum and clear the air. Our legal and engineering team has been assisting us with the details of a post and disclosure - which I expect to have in my hands later this month.

I can and will say this -

This site, the Wollard family and the members of the Rum Runner Racing Team have given our 'all' to this hobby and its future. We are saddened that certain individuals elected to take an opportunity to slam us in an unfortunate manner, for there own gain or gratification.

You might consider the validity of those sources in the future when you look for credible information or reference.

In this post - I can and will say the following.

In the event you are considering purchasing any product from BK Electronics or Lehner motors you would be well advised to wait and carefully read my coming post before spending your hard earned money.

Some balance would be nice.

What would be real cool, would be to see what the Lehner/BK response to Don's original post would be.

A response from Lehner/BK would probably only last a few microseconds on the Rum Runner board before one of the flying monkeys makes it disappear. :)

not on anyones side here, but that is one harsh call Kevin ;)

Although personally i think these guys RULE and have helped me ALOT!

Larry Larson

Jerry Dunlap

Grimracer

Jack Garcia

Dennis Whitt

Dick Crowe

Many more!

Now the thing is, what do they all have in common?

Kris

Harsh? Not really.

If anyone at all wants to make a statement that they have been wronged, that is one thing. Nothing wrong about defending oneself.

But, if that same person turns around and slams another person (especially knowing that their target has no opportunity to respond), well that's another thing.

Let's just hear the entire story before we come to any conclusions, thats all.

Your right Dan....

Let's talk about RRR's engineering team. I would like hear more about this one, sounds exciting. Anyone know who the engineering team is?

[/i]
Let's see, besides Don himself, there is Reed Eagle, former Aerospace engineer and CAD specialist, the racing team, Miha Holc, with to many

European Championships to name. Doug Twaits Jr. multiple national NAMBA titles and High points championships, Brian Vega, multiple national NAMBA titles. Chris Harris, composites.

Hired guns, Andy Kunz electronics & Garry Finlay, hull design. There are more, but it's not my place to list them.

I would say that's a pretty respectful engineering team.

It would be nice if there were more positive threads like the "class structure" one started by Doug as well as your posts on cell technology and less slamming of the Rum Runner forum and the Wollard's in particular here. Maybe Tom could start a sperate forum for bashing RR and the Wollard's so the rest of us don't have to read it.

hehehe

you guys play nice now....

you electric guys sure can get hot ..... uhhh..... batteries ;D
