i need infor on the o.s outboard engine!!!! i want to know how they compare to k@b engines and other makes in racing e.g performance, reliability , speeds? thnx

Well, if records are any indication of performance the O.S. 3.5 OB on a Lynx tunnel driven by Eric Bourlet broke the NAMBA 6 lap, 1 mile oval record by 7.5 seconds in Springfield, OR during the Memorial Day Weekend.

The O.S. is a beautifully crafted engine. Much better machining and tolerence than the K&B.

On my TS2 with a K&B 3.5SS, I had a top speed of 45 mph. Same boat with an O.S. Max has run 49/50. I would guess Eric's boat is probably doing 52/53.

The only thing done to my engine is remove the head shim which brings the deck clearance down to around .003. This setting will blow a few glo plugs when being broken in, but becomes easier on plugs as it breaks in.
