Geraghty has this great little display of 5 differnt P/S's, water nipples, etc. of the 3.5 K&B engine over the years. I am not sure who in the world would know which part came with which engine.
I did this display 5-6 years ago to demonstrate what you have to face with inspections.I know there are another 4 P&S's that are not on this board.""These parts were "only" for the early 12MM motors.""I would estimate that these are only 60-70% of the different internal parts that were offered for the 12MM motors.
Also in the 70's and 80's K&B also made a full line of 3.5 airplane motors,3.5 marine motors and 3.5 car motors all based on the same platform and all the internal parts interchange with the outboards.
Now which one of you box stock geniuses is going to assemble the "stock outboard" inspection packages for the CD's.Which one of you know what is a stock part is and what isn't.
There were several after market manufacturers that made internal performance parts for the 3.5 K&B's........RPM,McCoy,Mico Enterprises, L.A.W. ,Delta manufacturing,Paul Dassonville,Performance Model Products[Glen Dye],Tim Gillott and I am sure I haven't listed them all. With the exception of Paul Dassonville none of these manufacturers made parts any better than were offered by K&B.
All Tommy and I did with the existing Sport.21 rules was to make the 70's and 80's old style water-cooled motors competitive with the newer 3.5SS newer style motors which were not available for the better part of 2-1/2 years.
This existing rule package is the one single item that has led to the tremendous growth in the Sport .21 class popularity.
