Just picked up a gas thunderboat.what are good starter props for this boat? It is a shovel nose newton hull so I am told. I ran it today and it acts like it has too much prop just does not want to get the r's up. Thanx....Larry.

Larry, you will probably get a bunch of different answers on this one.

I used the Grimracer 2 blade from the RIo 51z boat of ours.

It worked well on the Insane T-boat I had.

Yes. Start with a stock 6717/3 and pitch it up from there.
ditto, with the caveat that I run on a Zipp Kits Bullitt. I've had a couple other props suggested to me which I can't remember, if I ever do I might get around to trying them.

Get a Props Works West ( Brent Daliy) Classic Hydro 395 - it will let the stock motor rev.... If that doesn't work look at pipe length
