Has anyone here run their ProBoat .18 motor without the head-shim installed?

I was measuring and it's .004", or about .1mm. ProBoat sells the .1mm, and the .2mm head shims for this motor. Is there anything to be gained here in a positive direction if I remove it completely? With the chamber still seal?

Ive run both the dyn15 and 32 with no head shims and they sealed up fine, I would suggest going through the dynamite engine and clean it out WELL before you run it (best if you clean it out before you ever spin the engine over)some of the dyn engines seem to have a lot of crap in them (some dont but majority ive taken down do)

So is it .004 with the shim or without.

Mike
Mike, the SHIM is .004" (.1mm) thick... I haven't measured the actual squish on the motor. I'm just leaving the shim in for now. Plenty of other things to worry about on this boat before I worry about extra power! ;)
