Sounds like you guys had fun racing together. This spring should hold some serious racing action. Everybody that I've talked to from the West Coast is talking about who did what at the Grand Prix Classic. You guys must put on a great time for racers at that event. That is how the S.C. Shootout race is over here on the East Coast. They treat everybody like family at that race.

Great Job to all the drivers and winners! Dang, if I was just still dating that cute little engineer from Boeing, I could still get free round trip tickets ....where is her number???

On the lighter side of this years Grand Prix a strange theme seemed to develop. It started with the local newspaper Sunday morning when what should appear on the frontpage....of all boats a picture of Al Water's "Pigeon Poop" Sport 40. A spectator was later overheard telling his family members "Hey look, it's the doo-doo boat!"

Then came the final raffle prize of the day hidden in Alfred and Jenny's motorhome. To peak everybodies interest Alfred kept hinting it was in a big box "and the lucky number is 777, Jeff Wells"

And to end the day somebody stepped in some poop. Not sure if it was from Dave Osman's dog or somebody just couldn't wait any longer in the line behind Uncle Jeff's trailer

LOL... Russ, are you coming to the ShootOut with Grim?
I would love to make it but doubt I will be able to get away during that time. If you are going to Evansville this year, we will meet up there!

I should be there. It looks as if I am going to make a few trips up into that region this year. I would like to see some of the racers that come from on up North of that area that I typically don't get to see.

Oh and Janice said to tell you hello....

Rudy, thanks again for helping repair the sponson on my scale. I started the rebuild tonight and it was a pain getting that wood off! I should've just broke out the belt sander, shaped it and called it a day ;)

On February 10, 2006 boat racers from 4 states began to converge on a small town in northern California that lies on the perimeter of what is known as the great Silicon Valley. Along with such great corporate giants as Ebay, Apple, and Yahoo, giants of the r/c nitro boat racing world came to make their mark at what has come to be known as the west coast’s premier season opener. Fremont, CA was the place and the Grand Prix Classic was the race. For More Photos and a brief recap visit our website www.grandprixclassic.com. For a full report look forward to the next NAMBA Newsletter.

Hay Roger,

You need to change 2nd place in B-Mod from Chris Grim

Well Don, I would have to say luck played a roll but I get more shots like that than most, so technique must play some part. I will say that a key is to always shoot with both eyes open, if you can master that you will be amazed how many good shots you can get. Always frame the shot looking through the viewfinder, never try to frame an action shot using an LCD or you will always be behind the action. Apparently I got a by line on the photos, I have not seen the article yet. Hmm you would think I could get a free copy since they got the photos for free. ;)
