Thats the opening scene from a movie from the 90s. Don't remember the title but it was set around a water bomber pilot.

The movie was with richard dreyfus and holly hunter. Richard's character chrashes while fighting a forest fire, and he's a ghost helping the the other fire bomber pilots.........just cant remember the name..................
