Also for what reason would the War Eagle be grandfathered.

It looks like a rigger with wings.

Sport Hydro's should be FULL BODY.

The War Eagle was proclaimed as a legal Sport Scale Hydro by NAMBA officials; don't get me started again. It is legal now, and will be legal for a time in the future. However, few folks run it today, and fewer in the future as it will be known to be obsolete in a few years. At least it is a model of a real Unlimited hydroplane, unlike the Spirit of the Eagle which is a model of a successful model....

DougFor what reason would the proposal grandfather the H&M hull?

90322[/snapback]

It is the most popular sport hydro hull running today but the turbine version doesn't comply with this:

g. Picklefork hulls may not have open areas ahead of the aft edge of the sponson riding surface totaling more than 25% of the total hull length.
All agree that it's violation doesn't offer any significant performance advantage and the grandfathering simply gives current owners time to modify their hulls to comply.

If the War Eagle is legal, why would it need a grandfather clause?????

I see why there is a grandfather clause for the H&M, but why include the

War Eagle in this clause???????

Can we vote on one or the other, or are they rolled together???

Relax Larry. :) Even though it has been declared legal by NAMBA under the current rules, the War Eagle isn't all that popular; the new rule committee decided not to penalize the racers who race it today it by outlawing it instantly even though it is not legal under the new proposed rules. It would be phased out in a year or two.

An awful lot of time and effort went into the new rule changes, and of course not everyone is/was happy with everything. If you've never been on such a committee you have to understand that compromises have to be made, just like in the US Congress....
