Hello All

I designed my radio box yesterday in AutoCAD and cut the parts on my CNC router

and put it together yesterday, last night and today.

I love designing stuff that hopefully comes out alright and works good.

I used 1/8" thick poplor grade plywood for lightness, and used Zap 2 part

epoxy to coat it.

It weighs 2 oz more than the fiberglass box that comes with it, but has

more room for taping the hatch down than the stock box.

I tryed to keep everything as low as I could, like the 5 cell 1400 ma battery

pack.

I used the Hitec 755MG 1/4 Scale servo for steering, Hitec 85MG for throttle

and fuel mixture.

I went with the "Body Clip" way of mounting the cowl "from my R/C 1/8 Scale Buggy Days"

It is a simple 1 Clip mounting system and is quick and easy.

I love Building stuff....

Man you have a eye for detail kinda like me, your stuff looks great, and makes me want all new radio boxes for the whole fleet. Looks like I will be needing a new radio box for my 45 leecraft tunnel.

I will get to your SGX 45 Radio Box Kit finished this week.

I have some of the Items finished but need some material.

Thanks

Joe

Definite DROOL factor..... I want a CNC router...

I should bite the bullet and convert my mill to CNC. That looks great Joe!

That looks great Joe but I would put some type of flotation in the cowl just to be sure that it doesn't sink if it comes off. Just my 2 cents. great work!

Thanks All

I am gonna put some floatation under the cowl and also in the hull

before i seal the tanks in, just got to paint the hull first.

The CNC cut .060 carbon fiber piece with my JRS logo in it is what holds the

cowl in place up front. I desined it to hang over the cowl by a 1/4" so it holds

the cowl down into the radio Box area then all the post iin the rear has to do is

keep the cowl down and it can not move.
