The Charleston Model Boaters club is proud to anounce that the 2012 IMPBA Nitro Internats is now open for entries. All entries will be taken through the website of http://www.rcracingevents.com/ Aquacraft Models has graciously committed to be the Primary Sponsor for the 2012 Internats. FABULOUS!!

The Internats is not structured like just another race, it is basically 4 races within one. We have 4 days of 5 rounds of US-1 heat racing (Sunday through Wednesday), followed by a day of Oval Time Trials (Thursday), a day of SAW Time Trials (Friday) and a final day of 3 rounds of heat racing for the Specialty classes (Saturday). A banquet will be held on Saturday at 7pm. The CMB course is certified for any records at the time trial sessions.

There is a 400 boat limit for the race. Entry deadline is May 16th with full payment required. Refund deadline is also May 16th. As with all Internats there is a race registration (required) which includes the banquet ticket. Extra banquet tickets can be purchased. CMB/Crapshooter (Stu Barr) and Technology Hobbies (John Otto) each plan on hosting a manufacturer party after racing on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings respectively.

All racers are eligible to participate in the heat racing sessions. The US-1 heat racing sessions on Sunday through Wednesday will determine who can qualify for the time trial sessions. The top 5/6 or 20% finishers each class will be eligible for the time trial sessions. IMPBA, NAMBA and APBA members, in good standing, and guests (NAMBA/APBA) mey compete for the US-1 championship.. If you want to run in the heat racing sessions on Sunday through Wednesday and then on Saturday, and are a guest, you can do that with the $10 guest fee. For those that qualify for the time trials, by virtue of their finish in the heat racing portion, will compete for the oval trials on Thursday and the SAW trials on Friday for a $15 per boat cost. That fees will pay for the trophies for each time trial portion. Combining the scores from each of the 3 portions will determine the US-1 winner for that class.

For those that want to compete for the US-1 championships, you must declare at the race check-in what classes (may as you wish) you want to race for the US-1. You may also choose two classes (only 2 classes) to compete for the President's Trophy for the pair of classes for the highest amount of points. It is like a race high points competition with 2 classes. Both must be declared BEFORE the race commences and will be done at check-in. Every boat will have a unique sticker put on it after check-in and inspection and it must remain on the boat for the entire race. You can change sponsons and/or cowls but not the main tub during the race.

Just a reminder for the big block rigger guys. The F Hydro CID engine limit is 1.83", which makes twin 91's the largest you can run in the class. You may not run twin 1.01's. You can run those in the Twin Rigger class but not in the F Hydro class. Every boat will be inspected at check-in for compliance with the rules.

I have attached a race flyer for information purposes only. Please enter through the rcracingevents website. The race schedule, classes, event information are detailed. It also contains the driving and motel information. Make full use of the online motel reservations systems such as Travelocity, Orbitz, Hotline, Kayak, etc., to check on possible better deals.

Try it now. Made a change on rcracingevents.com site.

If that does not work, do not use the hotlink and go directly to the website and see if that will work. t did for me.

At check-in at the race, you must designate what classes you want to run for the US-1 championships.

How is this going to work? How you going to know if you will qualify to run for US1 before heat racing is done??

That's a non issue Phil. You're not paying any time trial fees up front when you enter so just designate all the boats you enter that can qualify as US-1. If you make the cut I'm thinking it might have something to do with the additional tracking in the software for the trials portion. Regardless it's no big deal. Is it May yet? :D
