    Water Proofing

I think they mean splashproof. Put one under water one and connect it....NO DON'T. Maybe the newest Castle ESC (Hydra) may be closer but I doubt it. Keep it dry as much as you can. There is a conformal coating that OSE sells that works very well for ESC and radio. RC Hydroes uses it and his...

    Lube for connectors

GO to your autozone or whatever car parts store and get some spark plug Die-eletric grease in a small packet. Works good and is used for conenctions when electric is invovled and keeps plug boots from sticking to the lugs....even though this does not benefit us. Good stuff.

    What the heck is this?

I am interested in knowing what cells got that much run time...Lipo's or std nickels? Good job on getting decent stuff out there. It is a steal!

    Soldering battery packs

I always was told NOT to use a silver bearing solder for small electrical work. Am I wrong here? I use the small .062 Radio Shack solder for cells.

I may try and make it as well. I would like to see these and this is about as close as it will ever be to Missouri.

    Which ESC ????????????

If I were you I would buy it from Offshore Electrics. Looks the same and has reverse. Plus Steven will treat you better :) http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/MainPage.htm Go to Speed controls and look at the PROBOAT brand.

SAWS mono's ready for I.M.P.B.A. FE-II Time Trials

Jay...was it because of the RC Hydros Controller? Looks like it. I have one of those brand new with the stand up fets (air cooled) if anyone wants it...not for free, of course, but a good deal.

    Just a thought

Hey...I'm here as well. Like Brooks...I just check this one and don't post as much. Probably better for you all that way :) Anyway...I had an invite from a great builder some time ago saying come over here and join in. I did that. Yes, the other board has some of great expereience but as long...

    Who's using Lipo's

I guess my question is...why can cell phones and other new gadgets contain these cells if so touchy? I have never heard of any explosions and charging is done by the basic nuts that do not know any better. Why are they considered safe in those devices?

Huntsville, AL Record Trial APR 1,2&3 2005

Jim, glad to hear it. Weather certainly plays a big part. What were some of the speeds and in what classes? I take it someone will post some numbers soon.

Huntsville, AL Record Trial APR 1,2&3 2005

I, for one, would like to hear any ofthe details. Jim was running most sizes of my wire drives so I am anxious to hear how it went. I bet they were all just screaming fast.

    Wire drive coupler

You can bush it as stated and then you cut a slit in the bushing so the set screw hits the motor shaft.

    Graupner Keywest video

Perfect one to try if you don't want to mess with the metal ones. I also have a 40mm if you want one of those Longer run time and will still pick up lots of speed for you. $6 to your door.

    Wire Drives???

Sorry I found this link late. I see both sides and also see Pauls point. Y How about running no stuffing tube? Many do and one being the fastest riggers I have ever seen in oval...Paul will attest...was Klaus at WI race ...just walked away from everyone...lapping and then some...but man can...

    Wire Drives???

Dick, 1/2" won't cut it for the stubs and wire. They are also too long for most struts out there. Mine are made with the same shaft size as the the Fuller/Fine struts use (Ed's cables). Around 1-3/4" Ours get down to the 1-1/4" for depth. This was also a problem early on with some of the...

    Wire Drives???

I have built over 150 wire drives to date. Out of those we have had around 6 come part...mainly my own fault but learning what holds and what does not is the key and I think it takes Loctite and a good mechanical connection. What I did learn is SS is a non-active metal so you have to make it...

    Graupner Keywest video

Try another prop and you won't need any more speed. The prop will make all the difference. Any of these will make it fast....X438/440/445. Graupner CF 40/42/42 will aslo work very well and cheaper and no balancing. Hobby Lobby has them for around $4 and they work very well. The difference will...

    Graupner Keywest video

Thanks for sharing....always love to see how they run. What prop? I think you will see an increase in speed if you move the CG back a bit and run at least a X442 with that combo. Also, is your strut at least level with the bottom of the sponsons? Makes sure it is and you can also pick up extra...
