    What up Buck

David and I disagreed about the whether the engine would run without a disc valve in it. At the time, I had never seen or heard of this happening so we made a bet over a six pack of beer. He demonstrated that it would in fact run without the disc valve installed with his video, he won the bet. I...

    What up Buck

After reading and re reading your post, I cannot decide if you were trying to compliment me or insult me. Either way, in your drunken rambling frustrations, is it envy, jealousy or love? IF it is love then I must disappoint you....you are not my type. You cannot match wits with me...you do not...

    What up Buck

David, I see that your therapy is not working, again. Smoking the pills, drinking the mash and talking the trash, again, huh. Careful, that is a bad combination. Just shows everyone your true condition. Better to be old than to be pathetic. Charles

All in time....... I tried to get you to go to Hobart with me, all expenses paid, no cost to you. I could have paid you the beer bet then. A lost bet paid is just not the same unless it is paid in person....only then can the bragging rights and haggling be real. You tube is not the same:) Charles

How many years now have you saved this video just to prove you were right ONE TIME?????WOW. Was the BBQ sauce that good? I will almost bet that you have the sauce bottle bronzed and placed on the mantle. Even a broken clock is right SOMETIMES........ Carry on my friend:D

You give me a big shot of your adult beverage and I will stand in the next room and pull the trigger.... It will be difficult for you to tie your fishing flies with one eye and stub fingers.:)

    Wire drive

The strut bearing set up on any of my boats that are running wire drives (all of them are) is I use four ball bearing, two on each end of the strut, with a ring about 1/8 inch long made of brass tubing soldered to the stub shaft just in front of the forward set of bearings. This prevents the...

    What up Buck

David, you simply do not have enough faith...a true believer would never use liquid courage, wear helmet, face protection, thick jacket and use a slow speed grinder. Also, I think there is a group of the rattle snake worshipers in your area that you can join when you get lonesome. Carry...

I wet the plastigauge with a little spit ( it is always convenient ) to hold it in place and place one piece of it from edge to edge on top of the piston.

A new nitro engine coming soon (some say I am mad for doing this!)

Some use splined pins and some use a split roll pin. This one looks like maybe a splined pin, I do not see the hole in the middle of the pin for the split roll pin.

It is what I use also....that is why I described it as "Dummy Proof" :)

IF you use plastigage (this was invented and developed for engine assemblers to be able to measure the internal clearances accurately) to check the piston to head clearance then you can see exactly the clearances, what is going on, whether it is flat top, tapered, domed, checking head squish...

    Head bolt stripped

Rod and Scott isn't it amazing how great minds think alike..... :)

    Head bolt stripped

Back in the day, some of the "Big Boys" would machine a ring to fit where the liner lip was, torque it down and then lap the case bore just slightly to remove the bulges that were caused by the head bolts. Yes, I know that the same process was used on many good running automotive engines...
