Has anyone tried a X470 3 blade prop on a 44 SD3 with a CMB 101 or am I wasting my time whittling away on this prop?

Also has anyone got any tips to stop the boat from laying to the right side going down the straights?

Thanks

Olly

Try a stock ABC MW3.

Cut the hole in the back where the strut comes out so you can raise the strut till it hits the radio box.

Slap some lead under the eng and hold on when you squeeze the trigger.

I know it goes against all the rules of the universe. But thats how I roll. B)

What the boat s telling you is to much prop. Need to get the 470/2 of the dock first...... the three blade needs way more power.

Try the small version ABC Choppers.

Whos or what type rudder blade do you have on it?? I would V cut a X470 on the trailing edge.. and Dont thin it out too much, If you do?? It will pull the blades right off.

Olly,

The MW-3 works very well on that boat like David says.

Others like a PropShop propeller if you want to run a three blade.

The X-470/3 is a good propeller, but most 101's don't pull them with

enough RPM to be real effective.

Enjoy Testing,

Thanks for the info. It's given me a few options to try and I appreciate that.

I'll try raising the strut, go back to the 1 1/4" straight blade from Jerry (I was using a 1" blade), and look for a MW3 prop.

All the props mentioned require Power. Cutting the Transon to raise the strut to air the boat out................Prop is to big. MW3 is a 75mm prop.

Work on getting the X470/2 off the dock and running strait.

Point: Brandon's boat is not the fastest..........but it is set up were it can be raced. Get set up were you can race.

The MW3 races very good if you raise the strut and add led under the eng. 70+ MPH in race water.

Tested very good at the Winter Nat's for slapping it on the day before the race in open water for the first time.

Large props will run nice with the strut raised and only running on the tips.

Also keeps it from leaning over from all that prop in there water.

Also tested my rigger props 1667 ran real nice with these prop also.

Hydro props are not just for hydros. the will help hold down the front of the boat with the lift in the prop.

Tipping the back of the strut up will help balance the transom lift.

With the right balance it will fly in race water.

Break away from the flock and do some testing. It will pay off.

Olly,

David is giving you great information if you want to be out front.

Otherwise work with the X-467 V-cut I did for you and you should be good

to go racing. If you are going to flow your motor more there are other options.

I have plenty of MW-3's in stock if you want me to send it with your other propeller.

Have Fun Testing,

Mark Sholund

I stand by that statement: David, you, Nor I have beat that boat.

GET SET UP WERE YOU CAN RACE!!!

David..........Not saying it didn't. At the end of the day............not a single ONE of us That run f-mono,70 mph or not,

have Out Run, Out performend.Out lasted, Out pointed,................The results speak for themselves.

As we speak I an backing Down the power............ Getting set up so I can Race. ;)

No offense to you guys trying some radical stuff outside the box prop wise- but from what I watched run and raced against at the WinterNats

(some wicked fast F-Monos btw) You still gotta finish- look at Jeremys-Foleys-Genes-Brandons-Mine. They free up in race water , but not that over the edge unreliable loose. Do you guys have speed- all day long- but the lack of consistent finishes kill you. I managed 2/2nds and 2/3rds down on HP -with a VERY good handling boat. Just a matter of how you choose to skin a cat I guess, you guys ever get a handle on those boats and finish six laps at those speeds- we are all gonna have to rethink what we are doing to catch ya ;)

The guy that finds a happy balance of both will be the man to beat my friend-

Mines going back together soon Dave- keep ya posted on how well that beast of a motor runs

To finish first, first you must finish. ;)
Yeeeeeep ;)

I see both sides , its nice to be ballistic fast , and at times my conservative approach hands me more 2nds and 3rds than firsts - but I do like bringing the boat back hot every heat too B)
