tunnel hull radio box build

looking to build a custom radio box for my tunnel hull would building it out of balsa then covering the box in 0.1mm thick fibre glass make the box strong enough ?? or would i be better off building it out of ply ??

I wouldn't do it in balsa and the cove it with 0,1 mm resin. 2 reasons for that, if the balsa ever gets wet it will swell so it is better to use ply for that (just take thin ( 2 mm or so) aircraft grade birch). Secondly with balsa the 0,1 mm would be too thin.

My option would be make it in ply, waterproof with thinned epoxy (inside and out) and you're ready.

Definitely go with ply. Forget the balsa.
