My prayers go out to Rod and Carol. I wish him the best with his recovery from this. I'm thinking Agent Orange from his time in Vietnam had something to do with this. Just my opinion.........

I've had numerous conversations with Rod over the years about that and yeah that schitt messed him up big time.

Very sad to here this. Since joining I.W. I’ve learned of Rod’s innovations & dedication to the hobby. His contributions to the JAE hull is instrumental for a newcomer like me to start racing boats. I was fortunate enough to speak with him on the phone awhile back, ended up talking about boats for 2+ hours! Then exchanged pictures of projects afterwards. I’ve considered him a friend ever since. My thoughts & prayers are with Rod, his family, & all of his friends boating buddies.
Sincerely wishing a fast recovery,
Brian Neumann

Since I developed interest in RC boating 30+ years ago the name Rod Geraghty would be mentioned or in the Rc boating mags Rod is a wealth of knowledge.
Speedy Recovery Rod 🙏

True.. He got dropped in just 6 days before the Tett. He said, Agent Orange was fantastic.. it would drop the forest in MINUETS.. but.. as we know now.... it was going to kill a bunch of our finest. His heart is at a VERY weak state (8%).. when I would go to visit, he would say. if I go down DONT TOUCH ME.. or my pacemaker is going to nail you too!..LOL..

For those that dont know rod.. He is a master with a Guitar. He would teach lessons and loved to play in church when he could go. If you ever visit.. you will see more Guitars around then boats.

Anyway..

Wow! Neat intel, I had no idea. Hopefully my next conversation with him will be about those beautiful instruments rather than boats or motors! Get well soon Rod!

I talked to Carol this afternoon. There has not been any improvement in Rod's condition. He cannot communicate, his eyes are mostly closed, he was able to hold Carol's hand using his left hand, but is paralyzed on his right side. Carol said the doctors have told her once Rod is able to leave the hospital he most likely will need to enter a hospice care facility. Although she is very sad with Rod suffering a stroke, she has know for a long time he has been dealing with heart issues. She said she felt fortunate that Rod's brother(who is married to Carol's sister) along with their daughter Annie, and I think 2 grandchildren are in the area.
