Decks on the Backlash Gen.3 today. I have to say the MAS slow formula is nice to work with. It gave me plenty of time to do both decks at the same time, per Bob Blazer’s method. I thickened what I put on the frames with Colloidial Silica to make it less runny. I used straight up unthickened epoxy on the bottoms of the decks. Boat is sitting firmly on the separate building board I made for this purpose. The board I built the frame on is 12 in wide and this one is about 7 1/2 in up to the sponson transom where I widened it to about 14 in. I wanted to make sure that part of the boat didn’t sag under clamping pressure while keeping the back of the boat flat and being able to clamp all around. I’m relieved this operation is over. Not my favorite part of the building process.
