Zipkitt Thunder boat 290 PUM run in proceedure

Hello all,

I have just completed my first build, a Zipkitt Thunderboat and have fitted a brand new Zenoah 290PUM.

Can someone please tell me the base setting for both needles and a correct run in proceedure.

Also what ratio fuel mix do I use? I have Motul 800 2T oil to use.

depending which carb you have ,a 257 should start out 2 on low and about 11/4th on high needles, mix of oil and gas 8oz. oil to 1 gallon of gas, these are base line and you will have to experiment as you go trying to keep it rich as possible with a clean crisp sound and just take it ez first tank of fuel then run her

236cc oil to 3.79 L of gas

And the needle settings, how many turns out for the low speed needle, do i take it nice and easy for a few tanks, vary the throttle, not go full throttle etc.
