Ok you Sport Forty gurus !!!!!! For wooden boats of course !!!!

What do you think about putting foam in the full lenght of the sponsons and the outside of the tub to the rear ???? less formers, no top or bottom sheet sagging, and very strong.

Any thought's will be appreciated !!! Good or Bad ??? <_<

I was working on a dumas sport 20 pay n pak but have been busy with my family.

I cut all of the stringers for the front sponsons and placed foam between them. It makes for a very stiff boat then to either cover with ply or fiberglass. I will try to send you a photo if you are intrested, but It will be a while until I get to finish the boat.

SC,

It has been done before. There was a construction article in the Feb issue of RCM for the U-95, which was the first turbine power hydro. The construction of the 1/8 scale was ply over foam. I bought the plan from RCM and GTR kindly sent me a copy of the original article. That was the first WOF scale hydro that I have seen.
