For the second heat in a row, the Detroit River claimed an unlimited. Scott's boat got high in the air and appeared to come down on the front of the sponsons, ending up upside down. Scott was able to exit the cockpit on his own and was waiting for the rescue boat when it arrived. In the previous heat, the U-11 with JW Meyers driving, did almost the same thing, also ending up upside down in almost the same location. JW was also unhurt and exited the cockpit without assistance. This was all preceded yesterday by the U-22 blowing over in the "Roostertail Turn" during heat 2. Mike Webster was also uninjured except for some abrasions to his leg.
As for the boats, both the U-88 and the U-11 are still in the water, floating upside down while the U-22 is on its trailer with the right sponson almost totally missing. Updates will be added as information is given
