Starting point?

What is the ideal starting point on a tuned pipe on a 13cc. My engine is a 81 O.S. VR-M and my boat is a 44" Sightler Boats vee bottom.

The measurement is probably different for each type of pipe. I'm running one of Andy's parabolic pipes on mine. I've settled in on 11 inches as a good length. The boat is a 36" Sprintcat.

So 11" should be a good starting point? I am going to be using a Mac tuned pipe.

Ditto Bobs answer 12 is better to start should get you close

So 12" is going to be my better starting point? I just don't want to cut too much off of my new pipe.
