I have drawn up some plans for a sport 20 based on Brian Blazers Sport 40. I've made the boat 29 3/4 long and it will be powered by a cmb 21 (the red headed model 2 versions before the longstroke)

I will be running this boat just for fun as we don't race this class in the UK.

Anyway now some questions.

1 How much fuel do you normally carry in these boats?

2 Where should the balance point be in relation to the turn fin?

3 Anyone any suggestions as to the prop, the engine will have an irwin quiet pipe and run on 10% nitro?

4 As its just a fun boat will the setup be easier with the strut mounten an the back of the transom rather than through the bottom?

Any other advice or comments greatfully accepted.

1. run at least 6 oz, if it where my boat i would run a 6 oz and a 2 oz hopper tank

2. the balance point should be about an inch back from the end of the sponsons

3. first of all you need to run at least 35% nitro for the engine to run right and a X442 or 215 should start you out right

4. you can mount your strut either way its just easyer to mount it on the back because you dont have to cut a slot in the bottom of your boat

I am in no way a expert    but this is what people have told my dad and I to on his boat
