I've been tossing around the idea of developing a limited line of NARROW, thru-hull, floor mounted FE motor mounts.
Design features include:
*1/4" Aluminum face plate with 8 couterbored mouting holes, allowing you to clock the motor into your desired orientation. Also doubles as a heat sink pulling heat out of the motor.
* Mount is very narrow when compaired to the current mounts in this class of 40mm motors. Mount measures just under 2.25" wide.
* Removable tail ring
* Mount show will accept TP4070 and TP4060
* 6X 6-32 brass threads for mounting. Mouting hole width is 2" and spaced equally at 1.625" front to back.
As a guy that really enjoys sport hydro style hulls, there aren't many avaliable options for thru-hull FE floor mounts. There are several options where the vertical uprights can be glued in or some sort of adapter could be fabricated. I'm definatly not a fan of glueing in a motor mount upright.
I would be curious to hear some feedback from others.
