Aside from bending the outer edge of the prop, what are other options that work for you?

Cut the trailing edge next to the hub... or leave it alone & raise the strut.Aside from bending the outer edge of the prop, what are other options that work for you?

I barr cut ( Radius round cut) the trailing edge on the hydros to kill lift. This same mod on a mono kills too much lift. So I V cut the trailing edge on the mono`s. Unloads the prop & dont effect lift as much...... IF you BARR Cut take it easy. it effects lift quickly.......Mark:
I use all of the items that you have mentioned. What I'm finding is that when I increase the pitch (full blade) of the prop, it really begins to lift the back of the boat and edge curl does not overcome the lift as well as tip cup does. Also, any changes to boat set up can drive you back to square one with what used to be killer props.
The 101's have so much punch, keeping the prop(s) hooked up is the issue. I have not been able to put enough pitch in our props to see exactly how much is too much. As you know, this process takes many hours of experimenting.

I think you're right about cutting next to the hub. The next attempts will be just how much to remove and use in conjunction other bends as mentioned previously.

Mark:Rick,
I think you need to start working with bigger propellers.
Try some 1475's with the mods we have been talking about.
I just did some very custom 1667's with a lot more pitch in them,
but I am not sure of the test results yet.
70 mm to 75 mm is the size that 101's should be running.
Keep Testing,
Mark Sholund

I have not had to do the Barr cut yet. However, I think that is next in the progression of attempts. Tip cup has shown the best/quickest result but the cup has to be the same on both blades/props. Otherwise, the boat takes a dump. The acceleration is unbelivable. Hooked up better in the turns than anywhere.
