QD25 Tuned Pipe Length

I'm in the process of fine tuning my 1/6 scale U-10 Smokin' Joes hydro, and seem to be having an aweful time trying to get the engine to hit the pipe. The engine is a QD25. Could someone maybe give me an idea of the approximate pipe length I should be using. Does a longer pipe length hit sooner than a short?
