What programs do you use to make your template for laser cutting? I've tried illustrator but I can't figure it out.

Michael,
While I've never done any laser cutting myself, I have bought a few parts that were laser cut, and they have always asked for a DXF file. I would have to think a laser cutter is just like any other CNC machine, so just about any software that is able to generate a DXF file should get you there.

Hello Mike,
I am using Solidworks to create the drawing or DXF files and then import into CorelDraw X6 to convert the lines into hairline for cutting or other for etching.
Back when TechShop Detroit was still open I was using an epilog laser regularly. I found some similar instructions online to what I used to use.
