outdrive units for mono hull

Has anyone every tried one of these?

From a scale perspective the outdrive unit looks fantastic (realistic). But how do they perform?

Scott,

I had one many years ago. It is a great scale looking unit for fun runs but not competitive if you want to race. I had problems with the boat crabbing and had to install a center skid fin on mine. There was a small tab on mine behind the prop you could adjust so you could help keep the propwalk from turning the outdrive. The servos were not very strong back then.
