Any .45 classes?Just to add to the anticipation for the race, we are looking at adding in several classes for the 2010 race. These classes will be added to coordinate with the Southeast OB Tunnel Racing Series being started next year. The series is expected to include this race, 2 in FLA and one in Savannah GA. The final classes and the means of the series being run have not been completed yet and will be announced by others in the near future. However, the classes being considered to be added from the 2009 race are:
21 Kneeler OB Hydro, using a SS or Sport 20 engine (no pipes) - 21 OB engine REQUIRED
Open FE tunnel
Open tunnel consisting of .48 engines and higher
OB Hydro, such as a rigger with a 21 OB engine, similar to the Spitfire - 21 OB engine REQUIRED
So if you have a kneeler, or want one, or a Spitfire, or a FE tunnel rocket, etc., put it on your Christmas list and get it built for the race. It is fairly certain that these classes will be added. The race flyer should be out in about a month and the final classes for the race will be listed. We also hope that the attendance for the 2010 will be back to normal but the economy will dictate that for many. And we also expect the future dates for this race will continue to be the same period each year, around the first weekend of May. I made a note of this about 5 months ago to all for advance planning needs.
As an additional note, the Fall Nationals here in Charleston will be Oct 8-10, 2010, also for advance planning purposes.
Sport D "OUTLAW" which is any .45 motor, but no tuned pipes - can style mufflers are acceptable for this Tunnel class or K&B thru the lower unit exhaust.Any .45 classes?Just to add to the anticipation for the race, we are looking at adding in several classes for the 2010 race. John, Is Open FE replacing Spec FE, or an additional FE class? How many racers have shown interest in the Open class? Thanks, James
