OS lower unit question

Is there a difference between the version 2 and regular OS xm lower unit? The only differences I can see between them on the tower hobbies site is the price.

No difference.

V1's are normally cheaper and you get the water pick up fitting.

Identical cav plates on both.

Tim hit the nail on the head. Just think, you can now purchase an upgrade kit to convert your OS OB version 1 to a version 2, which includes having to remove the water pick-up and switching out the wide-band pipe and cooling head, for $119 LOL. Talk about marketing....

Maybe it's not Tower, but where they get them from are charging different amounts? Or maybe the exchange rate changed at the time of ordering one vs the other, or both factors combined? Given the number of items they would carry, I doubt it's a deliberate ploy. Same things happen where I work (an importer of office machines and parts to suit) and sometimes there are massive differences in landed prices for near identical parts.

Fortunately for us boaters, information is shared openly on IW about stuff like this allowing an informed decision.
